What it’s like to Stay at Shaheen Bagh Resort in Dehradun

Located near Tons river, Shaheen Bagh Resort gives you a tremendous experience of nature and peace combined with luxury in Uttarakhand’s Winter Capital.

From a group of friends to families to couples, this splendid and luxurious Dehradun resort provides a gateway to nature’s lap.

Flamboyantly decorated with a variety of flowers the resort has a beautiful garden with a classy sitting area with a pool view to make your visit totally worth it. Shaheen Bagh resort is also a biodiversity spot, a bird lover’s paradise with several species of birds taking shelter here. Those morning voices of the birds and that ray of sun is perfect to make your morning blissful.

All the rooms of the resort are located around this garden giving a beautiful outside view. And when it comes to the interiors of these spacious rooms, you will witness a vintage touch. Everything in the room is color coordinated and gives you the feeling as if you have entered an early ’90s room. From the short-curtained bed to an antique lamp to that wooden table-chair; each part of the room is sumptuous on its own. Talking about the overall vibes of the room,  it actually makes your eyes shine with the vintage effect.

The resort is so bird-friendly that in all rooms you will see a huge number of bird pictures just like a bird gallery, even you can get a glimpse of these pictures in the spacious washrooms of the resort.

As the resort is located a bit far from the main city area, it’s recommended to eat all your meals inside the resort itself. And when it comes to the taste of the food, it is so delicious that I can feel my mouth-watering while writing about it.

Starting from breakfast, they offer you a full-course English breakfast with a touch of Indian dishes which include omelette, slices of bread, varieties of jams, poha, idli, paratha, and even chole-bathure (changing dishes each day), followed by an Indian luncheon including dishes like paneer lababdar, dal tadka, mix veg, rice and moving on with Chinese/Indian cuisine for supper served with onion and mint sauce. Chicken curry is a must-try but paneer matar took my heart away. Each item they made out of paneer was super! It made me lick my fingers.

You can make most of your evening snacks while tasting them under-the-sky dining experience with savory and fragrant delicacies in their lawns and verandahs. Grilled sandwich, french fries, peanut chat, sweet corn soup are some of them which I tried and was impressed by the taste.

Overall, the food quality and quantity both were great which made me go nowhere and eat in the hotel itself.

The ideal spot has a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by flowers in its garden area. And if this doesn’t impress you then they have a relaxing spa zone so that you can ease yourself.

The resort is bird-friendly so you can easily perform an activity like birds watching there. Also, you can rent a cycle for Rs 500 an hour and explore the nearby areas of the resort. And if you are a book worm, love to read during vacation then let me break this to you, they have a library inside the resort so you can enjoy reading books. Even they have kept books in each room as well.

When it comes to the hospitality of the resort, the staff were really quick with their services, always available and absolutely helpful. I was facing an internet issue in my room but they plugged the router just outside my room. They make sure to provide the best services to their guests.

Destined 30 mins away from Dehradun Railway Station, The place is even famous amongst renowned filmmakers and actors from the film fraternity. Actors like Shahid Kapoor, Urvashi Rautela have visited this location.

For me, the resort is absolutely a go-to place in Dehradun, Uttarakhand which gives you a tranquil vacation experience in the hills and far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life!
